HERPETOFAUNA OF THE ONSLOW REGION, WESTERN AUSTRALIAWA Museum Records and Supplements | Updated 1 decade agoAbstract: Twelve families. 49 genera and 96 species of amphibians and reptiles have been recorded for this region on the arid north-west coast of Western Australia. This poverty, compared to the adjacent Exmouth region (114 species), is due mainly to the absence of a summer-cool, winter-wet coastal strip and to the paucity and inadequacy of rocky habitats, Brief notes are given on the local distribution, abundance and habitat of each species.
