THE BIOLOGICAL SURVEY OF THE EASTERN GOLDFIELDS OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA: VEGETATION AND FLORAWA Museum Records and Supplements | Updated 1 decade agoIntroduction: During the present survey of the Sandstone-Sir Samuel and Laverton-Leonora Study Areas, vegetation was described from plotless sample sites as specified by the Biological Surveys Committee of Western Australia (1984). From the survey, 31 vegetation sites were selected to cover the 10 landfonn units across both Study Areas. The locations of these vegetation sample sites are shown in Figure 2 (Sandstone-Sir Samuel Study Area) and Figure 3 (Laverton-Leonora Study Area). The sites are broadly classified, on the basis of structure and species composition of the upper stratum, into vegetation types. One of the types (Granite) was referred to as a vegetation complex, as the structure and species composition changed markedly over a few metres. Author(s) G.J. Keighery, N.J. Hall and A.V.
