Introduction: The Duketon-Sir Samuel Study Area has hot, dry summers and cool winters. Rain falls during both winter and summer (Figure 2). The climate of the Study Area has been classified as Dry and Hot Steppe (BSfh), according to the Koppen scheme (Dick, 1975). Beard (1976) regards the Study Area as Desert with Summer and Winter Rainfall. Details of the annual variation of rainfall and temperature are given in Figure 2.
