Very faint tinge of green in glaze. Footed, base scalloped and gilded. Indentation around body outside, with gilded band above. Rim scalloped and gilded. Pattern inside: Two bands of yellow-fawn wash, edge decorated with "rope" design. Hand-painted flowers between, in red, yellow, orange etc. Large raised handle. Crown mark printed on base in under-glaze purple. Mark of John Ridgway & Co., Shelton, Hanley, 1830-55. This is the shortened version of the Royal Arms mark used on cups. Ref.
