Clear glaze. Footed, with scalloped base and two bands of gilding. Scalloped edge to dish, gilded and with relief moulded handles, pierced. Pale green wash on edge, gilded with design of a pear and grapes over the glaze in centre. Printed mark in underglaze purple-red: "(Royal Arms) with DIEU ET MON DROIT \ I.R.". Pattern number 5969. Nairn number 101. John Ridgway & son, registered mark in 1840. Ref. Godden, Encyclopaedia, page 534, number 3258.
