Message in black ink on reverse "Dearest Lida/A few lines to let you know that I am/ still alive and hope to have a merry xmas. I/ have not had any news of your uncle. he is on a/different part of the line. Your last letter arrived six/weeks ago and I wish some more would come along/very soon. Have you had any news from Bobby./I suppose you know that Alex has returned to/ Australia. his right arm is useless. he was wounded/on the 24th July. I wonder how Alf likes being a/soldier.
