White postcard from Jack Bonney with white transparent fabric window and a flap. Pink flowers embroidered on lower section, pink flowers and union jack and "God/bless you" embroidered in blue on flap. A small white card (probably not part of original postcard) inserted inside the fabric window, with image of pink flowers and a maxim printed in blue "A boy's best friend/is his Mother". A message is printed in purple pencil on reverse of card "I wish you all A Merry Xmas From the Front/Oct 30.th 1916/Dear Ellen/Your Kind letter to hand/I was very pleased to get it & i am also glad/that you are near annie as I am sure/you have been a comfort to her in her/sad trial I can tell you it has been a/bitter blow to me I only wish they had/spared him and taken me for he had his/young life in front of him with love to you/all. Jack xx"
