Postcard with black and white image of Australian soldier holding bayonet at bottom left corner. Top left corner gold embossed crest of Australian Commonwealth Military Forces. Blue flowers in bottom right corner. Printed in black on card "From One of the/ANZACS./Serving His/King and/Country./I clasp your hand/in fancy/But all the while I feel/My hand is fairly/itching for/The grip that's truly real/FORGET-ME-NOT/You are always in/my Thoughts/and Prayers". Message on reverse in black ink. "Add(?)/No. 2864/Pte/C/o Australian/Imperial Force/Base Post Office/Abroad./Dearest Lida/A line to say that/I am still alive,/at a No 3 (?) Aus Ause (?)/Hospital Dartford/near London. Hope /you received all/my letters. I do not / know how long I / shall be here. I do/not feel very well/just now so/good bye with lots/ of love and xxxxx/from Yours ever/Joe"
