Cream silk over leather. Large striped bow in front. Tongue. Rounded slightly pointed tow. Low heel, untapered. All machine sewn. Tongue first mentioned c1895.
Additional information : supplied by June Swann, world authority on historic shoes visiting from UK, during her inspection of shoe collection 18th October 1993.
'Ivory silk. Child's shoe. May be boys or girls. Rounded toe. 3/8 round stacked heel. Pointed tongue, typical of 1890s. This shoe c. 1900. Ribbon/bow striped with satin. Black or very dark blue American leather tongue lining. Toe is cream (?) wool covered by silk, now deteriorated 'cheap, gaudy rubbish'. Nailed heel'.
