Worn by a member of the Harper family at Woodbridge. Black. Ribbed silk, fitted, boned bodice. Cut to a point in front and with 2 tai at back. Front fastening, on lining with 9 hooks. Cross-over front porched section of black lace and braid, hooks on to lining. "V" shaped neckline, squared in front. Braid trim. Pleated vertically on either side of front opening with braid trim widening widening from waist to shoulders. Shoulder seams set back Full, elb length sleeves with braid trim. Lace "puffed" effect matching fron and lace frill. Waist band of same material, sewn to suggest folds of material. Back cut in 6 sections with bone at each seam. Sectio form pleats "U" shape. Centre back seam. Bones at side seam & 3 in front (13 bones altogether). Petersham waist band. Black taffeta lining.
