a) Black silk. Small standing collar with silk gauze flounce. Same flounce extends down to centre front of cape. A ribbon of ruching borders this flounce. Cape shaped to a point in the front and also at the back. A miniature version of the full cape covers the top section. This is attached at the collar. Black silk fringe borders the edge of the main cpae and also the 'miniature' cape. Silk braid attached where fringe joins fabric. Tassles hang from front points of miniature cape and from this same point hang long folded and knotted lengths of silk gauze with tassles attached at bottom end. Fastens with metal hook at collar. Machine sewn, hand finished.
b) Vey similar to a) through all lined with silk taffeta. The 'miniature' cape is actually attached to the main part. Fringe knotted (3 rows) and longer. Braid different and also used under flounce. Tassels are smaller. Fastens at front with four metal hooks.
