CARRYING CLOAK, infant's

Cream wool with sateen lining. Edge strip of lining silk. Three tiered, with double cape and collar. Borders, mostly concentrating in the corners, embroidered in silk, using satin stitch and bullions. All edges trimmed with corded piping. Main tier of cape is gathered onto a yolk. Fastens at front with three mother- of-pearl buttons. All hand sewn. National Trust says possibly 1908 May be 1870's with the corded piping.
