a. Cup. Faint bluish tinge in glaze. White with printed pattern in under-glaze medium blue under rim. Stylized leaves and flowers. Rim gilded and strip of gilding on handle. Mark on base in under-glaze blue. "(around entwine rope) FOLEY EST 1850 CHINA \ (within rope) E B & Co. \ trade mark \ F \ COPYRIGHT". b. Saucer. Matches a. Mark as a . Nairn number C \ 33. E.Brain & C Ltd, Foley China Works, Fenton (Staffs), 1903 - . Mark similar to that in use 1903 +, probably to about 1913 when "England" began to appear.
