Being Western Australian

Many faces of WA

Western Australia is home to people of many different cultures and experiences that shape our State’s character, community and identity.  From WA’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, who have lived upon this Country since the Dreaming, to the new Western Australians who arrive here every day – the New Museum examine will what it means to be Western Australian.

Together, we will share the stories of our State through the voices of our people, and as our population continues to grow and diversity, and our city and State transform, the story of Western Australia will evolve.  This living testimony will grow over time as we explore the contemporary issues and events facing WA and our world.

"To be a West Australian means a lot to me. I feel privileged to live in a safe, friendly community with the right mix of hustle and bustle and relaxing lifestyle."  Lisa Adeney
