Join us as we cook up a feast, make musical instruments, craft Zulu shields and create shadow puppets. Dust and Damper 1.00pm – 3.00pm, Tuesday 28 Sept Have you ever used a grinding stone? Have a go as you find out what bush foods taste delicious in a traditional hamper. Become the camp cook as you whip up your own treat and whilst your treat is cooking find out how to decipher tracks across the landscape as you paint a colourful Indigenous masterpiece. Congklak and Making Makanan 1.00pm – 3.00pm, Thursday 30 Sept Try your hand at a game of strategy and cunning played throughout Indonesia. Then whip up delectable Mi goreng as your afternoon treat. Kalimba Cool 1.00pm – 3.00pm, Friday 1 Oct Hear a traditional tale from Swaziland and learn how the Kalimba was given to humans by the gods. You will craft your own Kalimba and learn to play a simple Swaziland melody. Ghosts of the Shadows 1.00pm – 3.00pm, Monday 4 Oct Become a master puppeteer and fashion an exquisite Wayang Kulit. Create a magical character to perform a traditional and funny Indonesian tale. Mozambique Mambo 1.00pm – 3.00pm, Tuesday 5 Oct Hear a traditional tale from the Zambezi and create your own real sized Zulu shield. Tools, Tracks and Traces 1.00pm – 3.00pm, Thursday 7 Oct Delve into the world of the tracker as you discover how to read the tell-tale tracks and traces left behind by animals and humans and try your hand at simple tool making. Inca Incarnations 1.00pm – 3.00pm, Friday 8 Oct Hear stories of ancient Inca empires and discover how they influenced the Bolivia of today.
