Come along and celebrate Maritime Day with entry by donation to the Western Australian Maritime Museum.

Ahoy there! Come and enjoy pirate fun activities for the kids, with our mini-pirate Flying Dutchman kites, decorate a pirate parrot and more. You can take an around-the-world flag adventure trail through the Museum to exotic ports of the world!

Enjoy free Museum tours and the magnificent views from our café.

Cost: Entry by donation. Activities are free.

Victoria Quay precinct

Celebrate Maritime Day expo Saturday 1 September 2012 at B Shed, Victoria Quay

The free annual expo held at the Victoria Quay offers people the chance to talk to representatives from companies involved in the maritime industry.

The expo celebrates the maritime industry and Fremantle Port, and provides the public with information about maritime education and careers.

What to do and see:

  • Navy Submarine rescue vessel will be on display for the first time in WA
  • 40 information booths
  • Walk around a tug
  • Free harbour ride on a Challenger Institute of Technology boat
  • A seafood cook-off: buy great food for a gold coin donation to Legacy
  • Gold coin entry to the Maritime Museum
  • Lots of entertainment, including pipe bands and school bands
  • Face painting and other attractions for children
  • Celebrate Maritime Day 2012 is supported by the Company of Master Mariners of Australia, Fremantle Ports, the Department of Transport, Svitzer and Australian Maritime Systems.
