The WA Museum is a proud partner of 2011 Thinker in Residence: Unlocking Creativity.

Unlocking Creativity is the Commissioner for Children and Young People’s inaugural Thinker in Residence program.

It will turn the spotlight on the role of creativity, culture and education in improving the wellbeing of children and young people in Western Australia.

Paul Collard from Creativity, Culture and Education in the United Kingdom has been appointed the inaugural Thinker.

A highlight of the two-week residency is a free public forum at the Perth Cultural Centre which will provide an opportunity for members of the public to participate in the Thinker in Residence discussion.

It will be held outdoors at the Wetland Stage in the Perth Cultural Centre on Wednesday 16 November at 5.30pm. Arrive early as seating is limited.

Paul will also spend a day in Albany on 10 November to gain a uniquely regional perspective. Hosted by the WA Museum – Albany, this trip includes workshops with regional and remote school children; strategic meetings with the local arts and culture community and Indigenous and migrant groups; and a free public lecture at the Museum at 5.30pm.

For bookings, contact the Museum on 9841 4844.
