Now in its 23rd year, the Clem Burns Heritage Award is an annual competition for Mid West students from Year 3 – Year 7.

With the United Nations declaring 2012 International Year of Sustainability for All, the challenge for students was to carry out research and create a model that depicts a form of sustainable energy in the Mid West. Sustainable energy is easily replenished and will never run out. Examples of sustainable energy include hydroelectricity, biomass, tidal, solar, wind, wave and geothermal energy.
