Remember me: the Lost Diggers of Vignacourt

Australian War Memorial

Remember me: the lost diggers of Vignacourt tells the story of how one enterprising family took the opportunity of passing traffic to establish a business taking portrait photographs.

Captured on glass, printed into postcards and posted home, the photographs made by the Thuillier family enabled Australian soldiers to maintain a fragile link with loved ones in Australia.

Bring your students to the Museum to remember those who served in the lead up to Anzac Day.

Exhibition dates: 27 February – 1 May 2016

Without Consent: Australia’s past adoption practices

National Archives of Australia

In 2013 former Prime Minister Julia Gillard offered a National Apology to the many thousands of people affected by forced adoptions.

Without Consent brings to light the previously hidden adoption practices of Australia's past. The exhibition focuses on societal attitudes, women’s rights and advocacy in the 20th century.

Online education resources that complement the exhibition and align with the Australian Curriculum: History can be found here.

Exhibition dates: 13 May – 24 July 2016
