RUG, Persian Prayer
CH1973.180
Purple, tan, cream and green colours in design pattern. Purple and green border. Fringed at 2 ends. Colours faded.
13.3.80 Addition:
This is not what is typically called 'Persian' carpet as these are usually of a floral - or flower derived - design. It is rather a Beluchi (from Beluchistan) prayer rug - they are a nomadic tribe. The plum colours and the type of design are common to this style. The rectangular shape is typical of this part of the world.
