TRAVEL CASE, with 10 piece glass and silver ladies’ dressing set and glass ink bottle, Ethel Clifton Hassell

[.1] Brown leather, felt lined, hand stitched case with hinged lid and front flap which encloses the travelling case. A leather strap is attached with loops and fastens the case with a brass buckle.Two brass braces at the back reinforce the lid. A label with 'Mrs Hassell/482/METTREDANSIA/CABINE' is glued to the top with another 'Mrs ?Y Ha??sell/Sou? Kensing?/London'
[.2] Travelling case, with polished walnut? lid and a brass central plaque with intertwined 'EH' engraved on it and '1878'. Brass edges around the box. A gold tooled framework of red leather with an insert of purple, plush vevet lines the lid. This inside lid opens up with a catch located under the prongs of the lock. A mirror is housed inside it including a pocket for letters. The case itself has five wooden partitions for bottles and a larger one in front with support struts for the tray. A space at the front bottom of the case enables a tray to be inserted. The base is lined with green felt.The case has a brass lock with keyhole (no key) and two brass hinges.'BRAMAH/IMPROVED/LONDON'A brass cylinder push key behind the partitions, unlocks the drawer below
[.3] A wooden tray with eight partitions of different sizes which fits into the travelling case as described. the larger central partition has a purple, padded silk lining and two retractable brass rings to lift the tray out. Velvet, purple, padded cushion with red tag and black leather lining, fits over the central partition described above
[.4] An ablong, clear glass box, bevelled at the top fits into the back recess of the tray
[.5] The lid of the box is silver and is engraved with leaf garlands. Two small holes are punctured into the lid, each end

[.30] A pull out wooden tray with six partitions lined with red leather, purple silk and purple velvet. Partitions are edged with gold, silk cord. This tray is opened by pushing the brass button between the hinges. Jewellery and a watch were found in this part of the case
[.31] A cardboard box,decorated with green, gold and cream waves and closed in a plastic envelope and silver tape
[.32]Cardboard guarantee card, green, for 'BAUME & MERCIER/GENEVE'
and '15 MAYO 1970' stamped on it.
