This is a modern World War II katana blade bearing the seki acceptance stamp. The signature reads: ‘Nagata Sukenori (made this)’.
Koshirae
Type: SHIRASAYA
Saya: black lacquer over wood, decorated with bird and floral designs in red and gold lacquer
Tsuka: black lacquer over wood, with red lacquer band
Overall length: 102.0 cm
This appears to be standard storage mount, but is unusual in that it is lacquered and decorated.
