CUP AND SAUCER

a. Cup. Clear glaze. Footed, sides slightly fluted and indented around rim. Single band of gilding near rim of cup on outside. Wider band on inside with gilded leaves and pink bell flowers (erica?) over the glaze. Raised, straight-sided handle, gilded. No marks. b. Saucer. Matches a. Edge slightly fluted and indented at edge. Wide band of gilding at edge with pattern as a. and spray in centre. No marks on base but pattern number 7367. Shape seems very similar to illustration in Godden, British Porcelain, 1974, page 369, plate 457. Nairn number C \ 28 Ridgway.
