CUP AND SAUCER

a. Cup. Very faint greenish tinge to glaze. Footed with rounded edge t foot. Wide rimmed, edge of body fluted. Very similar shape to CH79.603, althou handle slightly more elaborate. 3 pairs of gilded leaves on outside of body. Inside: Gold band inside edge and at base. Band of pale grey-green wash decorated with gilding. Grey- green colour similar to that on CH79.602 although not identical. Moulded, gilded handle. No marks. (b) Saucer. Matches (a). Remains of pattern number "572" on base. Nairn number C \ 7. Nairn identified only as Staffs. ca 1840.
