Standard gunmetal measures, 4 x 2 Gallons with corresponding glass levelling plates in mahogany case. The measures are cylindrical, with handles on each side, made from gunmetal and possibly wood on the grip section. At the front, middle H.1995.1471.1 is stamped '4 GALLONS', H.1995.1471.2 '2 GALLONS'.
The measures sit in a felt lined compartment at the bottom of the case. There are also three felt sections, above each measure, on the inside lid. On the top lid of the case, a metal label, located in the center, reads 'Standard Measures,/ 4 x 2 GALLONS/ W & T AVERY, LTD/ BIRMINGHAM.'
On each end of the case, there are leather handles.
