CASE, Uniform

Black painted metal uniform case belonging to Alexander Forrest. The inside is painted pale green and has a metal recess for the hat. There is a leather border around the inside of the lid and four rings along the length of the base and another one at each end through which straps are threaded to secure the uniform. The straps are wrapped separately and stored inside the case. A single carrying handle is located at the back and, at the front, two slide catches and a lock. Two plates are attached, the shield-shaped one reading "E.T.MANNING & CO / MILITARY TAILORS / 124 NEW BOND ST./W.", the other, "ALEX.R FORREST. ESQ". For uniform contained in case see H88.614
