"LADY FORREST" FORMER PILOT BOAT

Total weight 24.5 tons, displ. 31.5 tons. Named after the wife of Sir John Forrest. Built for Fremantle Harbour Trust in Isle of Wight. Trials in May 1903. Built on lines of steam lifeboat "City of Glasgow". Arrived in Fremantle 1903. Cost 14,000 pounds. After WWII steam engine removed and diesel fitted. Substantial structural alterations, including fitting of conning tower from scrapped Dutch Submarine. Restored to former appearance by Fremantle Port Authority.
