STANDARD MEASURE, 10 GALLON, IN CASE

Standard 10 gallon gunmetal measure in mahogany case, with glass levelling plate, in wooden compartment. The measure is cylindrical and has 2 handles on each side, made from gunmetal and possibly wood for the grip section. At the front in the middle the measure is stamped '10 GALLONS'. The measures sit in a felt lined compartment at the bottom of the case. There are also three felt sections on the inside lid. On the top of the case, a metal label, located in the centre, reads 'Standard Measure/ 10 GALLONS/ W & T. AVERY. LTD/ BIRMINGHAM.'
On each end of the case there is a leather handle, could be used for checking trader's petrol pumps.
