Counters to be used for 'number work and picture / matching' (label). a. Cardboard box covered in blue paper and with cream coloured label on top. 'F. Rogers' written in blue ink on label. The price 7/- written in pencil on the label. Label reads as follows '"Everyday Object"/Coloured Counters / BOX 2 / 100 graphic counters comprising / 10 each of 10 different objects. / For number work and picture / matching. Diameter 1 1/4 inches. / PHILIP & TACEY, LTD. / 69 to 79 Fulham High Stree, London, S.W.6 / R 6418 A' b. 100 circular counters which are red on one side and have a coloured picture on the other. The pictures are : flower, chicken, duck, rabbit, apple, bird, dog, cat, fish, pear. The toys were used by Miss Frances Rogers. Miss Rogers, born on 19 Oct 1904, went to Teacher's College in 1930 and joined the Education Department of W.A. in 1934. Between 1934 and her retirement in 1967, she taught at various country schools, took special classes for deaf and dumb children in Mosman Park, and classes for mentally and physically disabled children in Leederville. She also made and purchased a large collection of puppets which were used as teaching aids. These are accessioned under numbers H88/613 to H89/307 (not inclusive).
