See also H89/742 Stamp pads- they were packed together. A collection of small rubber stamps with a variety of pictures of animals and everyday objects such as cow, butterfly, train, ship, carrots, kangaroo. There is also a stamp showing 'F.P. ROGERS'. This appears to be the stamp which has been used on many of the objects in this collection eg. printing sticks, H89/558. There is also a stamp which would make an oval border of a suitable size to write comments in. Apart from these two, the only other stamp with a handle is a star. The stamps were received in an old Spalding tennis ball box which is in poor condition and has not been accessioned. They have been kept in this box. The toys were used by Miss Frances Rogers. Miss Rogers, born on 19 Oct 1904, went to Teacher's College in 1930 and joined the Education Department of W.A. in 1934. Between 1934 and her retirement in 1967, she taught at various country schools, took special classes for deaf and dumb children in Mosman Park, and classes for mentally and physically disabled children in Leederville. She also made and purchased a large collection of puppets which were used as teaching aids. These are accessioned under numbers H88/613 to H89/307 (not inclusive).
