DRESS, child's, late 1860's

Bought at Christies on the 23rd March, 82. A pink wool dress, short sleeves, boat neck. V-shaped panel of gathers from shoulder to waist ending with section of shirring at waist. Neckline and sleeves trimmed with three rows of narrow black velvet ribbon. Bodice fully lined. Back fastening with brass hooks and cotton eyes. Skirt gathered onto band, at waistline. One flounce. Two bands of black velvet ribbon on skirt. Pink silk ribbon trimmed with black velvet ribbon around waist, fastening at back with very large bow. All hand sewn.
