Hamon: wide suguba of nioi
Date: mid-16th century
This wakizashi blade appears to come from the Kanabo group, of Nanto, in Yamato Province. The swords of this group were considered excellent fighting weapons and were renowned for their sharpness rather than for their artistic merit.
