Nakago: 8.01 cm, one mekugi ana, suriage
Hada: unclear due to abrasion
Hamon: appears to be wide suguba
Date: 16th century
This blade, of willow leaf shape, has been made from a spear head, (Yari), or yanagiha shape.
Koshirae
Type: HAMIDASHI
Saya: mijingai nuri in black//green lacquer over wood, with motif of bubbles rising from copper shellfish at tip. Copper kodzuka in pocket, decorated with a crab
Tsuka: white same, bound with dark green silk, over wood
Fuchi/kashira: copper, nanako background decorated with shellfish.
Menuki: copper, modelled as shellfish
Tsuba: iron, of naga-maru-gata shape.
Dimensions 2.7 x 4.5 x 0.4 cm.
Overall length: 39.5 cm
These delightful fittings are signed, in Sosho style: CHOKO or NAGAYOSHI.
