Postcard size black and white photograph of Matthew and William Harwood’s improvised canvas, hessian and bush wood tent/house, Canning Vale, c. 1912-13. Depicts one large structure on left with four walls made of upright thin wooden logs, pointed roof and canvas draped over roof, and smaller structure to right with three walls, pointed roof and canvas across top. Gumtrees in background. Image does not extend to edges of postcard paper but is cropped 25mm from left. On reverse, black printed lettering reads ‘POST CARD/ CORRESPONDENCE | ADDRESS ONLY’ and small stamp box is delineated by four words printed in square shape: ‘KODAK/ AUSTRAL/ KODAK/ AUSTRAL’
