BEACH COAT, cotton, yacht motifs, ‘Mode Wäsche’

Blazer design, short sleeved, dark blue with red and white sailing yacht motifs, heavy cotton, ‘Mode Wäsche’, women’s beach coat. Open collar, with rounded lapels, hidden hook and eye at collar points, secured at waist with single round orange button, with fabric hook. Sleeves gathered at shoulders, two rounded patch pockets on each side, at hip height. Two seams, bust to hips, on each side. Fabric is heavy woven cotton, with red and white sailing yacht motifs, interspersed with red wavy lines (denoting water?). Hand repaired hole on right hip, near side seam. Reverse: collar roll heavily worn, holes across shoulders hand repaired. Small hole on right shoulder, not repaired. Single centre seam down back, with two smaller darts over hips. Fabric sun faded. Inside: loose threads under right arm, maker’s label inside collar, purple and white ‘Gr. WӒSCHE 44’, loose threads on left pocket stitching. Damaged, worn, but generally good.
