RAIN GAUGE, Wicherina Dam

Gauge sits on solid metal base. Base has two wing-nut screw. Gauge is rectangular with a filter-funnel on the top which allows the rain to enter. The front and two sides are made of glass which allows the workings to be visible and masurements taken and recorded on a cylindrical paper graph. Gauge is made of metal which was at some stage painted green, or oxidized in places. Brand name on a plate on the front apex panel reads "NEGRETTI & ZAMBRA/Trade Mark/N9 M/1120/LONDON". Mechanics are brass. Brass base, copper shell.
