DRESS, with bolero jacket

H2000.1.1-2

(.1) Sleeveless dress with shoulder straps. Gathered waist, with gathered full petticoat underneath. Straight neckline (across chest). Sides of bodice gathered, central panel flat. Single bow across central panel. White painted metal zipper at back. Hem has white bias binding edge. Originally was hemmed up again, but original stitching has come undone. Fabric is cream rayon (satin sheen) with large gold roses, with an orange centre, and green leaves. White label is sewn to inside of back. Machine stitched label with image of woman in Dutch costume and words "Van Roth/REG." in blue, green and red. Second label stitched along side it has "RAYON" printed in black. The breast cups of dress have double fabric lining and have concentric circles of stitching for reinforcement. Two thin panels at back, and one in centre of front of bodice are "boned" with short piece of presumably plastic/metal.

(.2) Bolero jacket made of same fabric as dress. High waisted, cap sleeves, no collar, single fabric-covered large button at bottomof jacket. Two darts at side and at back.
