Similar plane to H.1994.97 except longer. This plane is depicted in the William Marples & Sons Catalogue 1928.This example is the 'closed handle type'. The cutter is marked 'WP/ WARRANTED/ WP/ WARD'.
The iron wedge is marked 'ALEX MATHIESON & SON/ (star, crescent moon logo)/ STEEL/ WARRANTED'.
Like H.1994.97 the cutter and iron wedge are both easily replaced so it is not certain which is the manufacturer. This plane (TRY PLANE) is identical to one pictured in W. Marples Catalogue.
