HAIR CURLERS - ASSORTED

Box of assorted types of hair curlers. Type A is a spring clip which clamps a wave of hair between spiked jaws. Used to produce the Marcel Wave styles so popular in the 20's and 30's. Type B, the 'DINKIE' clip. An oblong wire frame with a sliding clip on one end. In the centre is a double flat metal clip. A strand of hair is secured in this clip, rolled up, and secured by the sliding clip on the end of the frame. Designed to produce small sausage like curls. Some of type B are marked 'HOLLYWOOD CURLER / OCEANS OF NOTIONS / MADE IN ENGLAND'. Type C operates on the same principle as type B. Oblong metal frame with a looped bend at one end. Inside frame and secured by the neck of the loop, are two wavy pieces of metal. Hair strand is wound around the two central pieces which are secured by pushing their ends into the neck of the loop. Type C are only marked 'Pat No. 35350'. Part of a large donation of household effects collected from the property the the late Mr & Mrs Osterberg when relatives came from the Eastern States to settle the estate. N.B. THESE CURLERS HAVE NOT BEEN INDIVIDUALLY NUMBERED. THERE ARE TWELVE OF TYPE A, FOURTEEN OF TYPE B, AND SIX OF TYPE C.
