PHOTOGRAPHIC ENLARGER

1. Enlarger - outer construction, metal and wood, painted green and rectangular in shape. A wooden frame, attached to the enlarger held it upright. At the front, a wooden door with a small window 9 x 6.5 cm cases the glass lens. The door is constructed in three tiers, the outer edge being a metal layer. The door is attached with metal hinges and has wooden latches. At the back, the electrical cord is fixed. The cord has a white plastic on/off switch and a grey three pin plug at the end.

2. Artificial light box - metal and wood box container, painted green. Inside the box in a central position, a light socket base is fitted with screws, to fit a bayonet type globe. An electric cord is connected to the light socket section at the base of the box and is connected to a 3 pin plug. A dark glass plate, slides into a compartment at the front.

3. Glass plate - dark glass plate, with a glued paper 1cm border. It slots into the front of the artificial light box.

4. Glass plate - dark glass plate, with a glued paper 1cm border. Slots into front of artificial light box.

5. Printing frame - wooden frame, painted black, with cream felt on upper side. Metal back, painted black, divided into two sections. A metal clip located on each section. Upper section reads 'EASTMAN PRINTING FRAME/ FOR 3¼ x 5½ FILM NEGATIVES'. Below clip 'MADE IN U.S.A. BY/ EASTMAN KODAK COMPANY/ ROCHESTER N.Y.' A small hole has been drilled at the centre of the top and bottom.

6. Printing frame - wooden frame with hinge centred at top. Inside - glass (clear) plate 14 x 9 cm in a central position. Under the plate there is a small rectangular section of green felt divided into two and surrounded by 4 thin metal strips. Strip of paper reads 'Printed in U.S.A./ PAN FILM/ KODAK/ PANATOMIC - X 120 FILM'. The 4 sides of the frame show centimetre and millimetre sections. The front of wooden frame at the top - a label reads 'Ve-a fix/ ZEISS/ IKON'.
There is a metal catch to close the frame at bottom. At the back of frame, a small square shaped door can be opened, attached by 2 metal hinges and closed by a metal cross bar. A small metal knob in a central position is used to open the door.

7. Enlargement paper holding board sitting on a baseboard and attached by metal 'L' shaped fitting, with two screws. The baseboard is made from 3 sections - lower is green foam, middle - a block of wood 2.5 HT with at one end a section of wood is attached by 3 nails and painted 1/2 in green and 1/2 in red. Top - plywood, painted black and slightly smaller in width. The paper holding board 33 x 26.5cm, consists of a block of wood, (painted green) with a frame attached by two small hinges. Stuck to the wood are two pieces of paper, the top one is black. Attached to the frame and two metal dividers 1cm (wd), one along the length, the other width.

8. Printing - wooden metal frame, painted black. Two frames attached by two metal hinges. On one side there are two smaller wooden frames, set in place with metal bars. On the outer part of this section a metal frame forms the window.
There are some screws missing from the frame and it appears to have had another section attached or could be attached, if required.
