MEDAL, George III Golden Jubilee

Issued on the Golden Jubilee of George III in the fiftieth year of his reign. Obverse bears the monarch's head in high relief and around it, "GOD SAVE THE KING". Initials "T.W" (T. Wyon) on the lower edge of the bust and to one side is the old Art Gallery registration, "K53". A laurel wreath encircles the reverse with a ribbon reading "GIVE / GOD / PRAISE". Within the wreath, "GRAND / NATIONAL / JUBILEE / OCT 25. 1809". Around the edge, "THE 50 YEAR HE HAS GOVERNED & PRESERVED AN AFFECTIONATE & LOYAL PEOPLE".
