SHOES, Court
H1989.966
White court shoes. Vinyl upper, sole and heel. Counter leather lined. Italian 5cm heel. Rounded toe with pointed throat. Topline trimmed with red vinyl. Bow embroidered with red thread at the side of the vamp. Stamped in gold ink on the soles is the following; " MADE IN JAPAN / 23 ". There are also a couple of red and white stickers with " W-201 " written on them. On the insoles in gold ink again is stamped " JAPAN BY HELLENE / HER- BETTE ". The shoes, with various other articles, were presented to the Western Australian Government following the Sister State agreement in 1981. They came from the 1981 Hyogo Exhibition in Japan. They were displayed in the Beaufort Street Gallery for a number of years.
