'Pair of embroidered silk shoes as still worn by fully grown women in remote parts of China'. Embroidered on pink ground (probably originally red): pavilions, bridge, trees and flowers mainly in blue, green and white with some gold thread. Black binding around top, except back of heel. Base and soles covered with pale blue silk. Small, turned up toes.
Ann Roberts: A pair of silk embroidered shoes, with garden pavilions on the pink ground and the lower part in turquoise.
