MEDAL, Victory
H1989.949
Victory medal awarded to Alan Wilkinson after his service in the navy during World War 1. See documents H89.946 and uniform at W86.36. The bronze medal has a winged figure of Victory on the obverse and an inscription, "THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILISATION / 1914-1919" on the reverse. The plain rim is inscribed "7618 A.A.WILKINSON. LDG. SIG. R.A.N." The ribbon is red in the centre with green and violet on either side shaded to form the colours of two rainbows. Associated with W86.36.
