MEDALS, miniatures x 2 with ribbons, British War Medal and Victory Medal

Two miniature circular medals, British War Medal 1914-1918 and Victory Medal, on ribbons held together by bronze bar with pin.

Medal to left is a miniature, circular, silver, British War Medal 1914-1918. It has a plain straight non-swivelling suspender.
Obverse; effigy of King George V with ‘GEORGIVS V BRITT: OMN: REX ET IND:IMP:’ in relief around edge.
Reverse; image of St George on horseback armed with a short sword trampling underfoot the eagle shield a shield of the Central Powers, and skull and cross-bones, representing death. Above this is the risen sun of victory. The years ‘1914’ and ‘1918’ to the circumference. The riband is orange in the centre, with stripes of white on each side and borders of royal blue.

Medal to right is a miniature, circular, bronze, Victory medal. It has a small circular loop riveted to the top through which is a 7mm circular bronze ring attached to tapered base of ribbon.
Obverse; winged figure of Victory with palm branch held in right hand. Reverse; ‘THE GREAT∙ / WAR FOR∙ / CIVILISATION / 1914-1918’ encircled by a raised wreath design. The riband has a ‘two rainbow’ design, with the violet from each rainbow on the outside edges moving through to a central red stripe where both rainbows meet.
