[1] Medal, bronze, Cross of Honour, ‘1914/1918’, combatant. Small, bronze, ‘1914/1918’, Cross of Honour, combatant, medal. Round link ring, attached to eyelet. Linear border around arms of cross, with plain edge. Raised wreath and bow embellishment around outer circle, with raised text ‘1914/1918’ in field of cross. Two crossed over swords, bodies hidden behind wreath, hilt of sword visible between proper left and lower arm, and proper right and lower arm. Pointed sword tips appear between proper left and top arm, and proper right and top arm. Hilt diagonally engraved, with oblong crossguard, engraved with smaller rectangle in centre. Reverse: maker’s mark in centre of field; raised circular border, around monogrammed ‘PS’, intertwined and underlined. Bronze tarnished, turning green on large parts of reverse, proper right arm and eyelet. Wreath bronzing wearing away, at top of field.

[2] Ribbon, black and white, single red strip centre. Oblong, black and white striped with central red stripe, silk?, shiny textile, Cross of Honour, 1914-1918, ribbon. Top and bottom edges frayed, with loose threads, permanent crease (horizontal) in centre of fabric. White discoloured/yellowed, with dirty marks all over fabric. Underside cleaner than top.

[3] Certificate, Cross of Honour, serial no. 31693/3. Small, rectangular, off-white, paper, Cross of Honour, certificate. Text redas; ‘Im Namen des Führers und Reichskanzlers/ Dem/ Kaufmann Leo Freudenberg/ in Bremen/ ift auf Grund der Berordnung nom 13. Juli 1934 zur Grinnerung an/ den Weltkrieg 1914/1918 das von dem Reichspräfidenten Generalfeld-/ marfchall von Hindenburg geftiftete/ Ghrenkreuz füur Frontkämpfer/ verliehen morden./ Bremen, ven 1. Mai 1935./ Der Senator für bie innere Berwaltung/ Nr. 31693/3’. Black ink signature in lower right corner, with smaller pencil mark above. Small, round, black ink stamp, central crest with shield flanked by two lions, text reads ‘FREIE HANSESTADT BREMEN/ Polizeidirektion’. Rust mark from paperclip in top left corner, certificate folded into quarters, smaller rust marks on plain reverse.
