Two circular brass & bronze medals issued to commemorate the declaration of war against Germany by Britain in 1914. Obverse side bears design of crosse Australian & British flags surmounted by swan. Caption around border: "DECLARATION OF WAR BETWEEN ENGLAND & GERMANY". Reverse side bears central caption: STRIKE HARD AND STRIKE AGAIN / WESTERN AUSTRALIA. AUGUST 1914".
