STAR 1914-15

H1989.952

This campaign star is similar to the 1914 Star but was awarded to those who served on shore or at sea within the theatres of military operations during 1914-15. (For details see Dorling, p.122-23). The medal is a four pointed star in bright bronze with a plain reverse bearing the inscription "D.N.J 9513 / A.A.WILKINSON. / LDG SIG". There are two crossed swords within a laurel wreath, the letter "G" at the base and a crown at the apex while the centre bears a banner with "1914-15". The ribbon is red, white and blue, shaded and watered, and is worn with the red nearest the centre of the breast. Associated W86.36.
