ENVELOPES, Packaging - 3 -

H1989.772

From workshop of Albany saddler, the late Arthur George Morrison b.1928 d.1989. The business was established by his grandfather, George. See H89/561 - H89/691 saddlery tools. Morrison also appears to have been a local retailer for fishing items ie. hooks, tackle, sinkers etc. The envelopes used for the packaging of small items (most probably hooks) are a biege col- our with black print on the front of the envelope. The print consists of a diamond (longest points facing east-west) with decorative edges. The following words appear; "ALBANY FISHING" / "'Phone 302." / "GEO." / "MORRISON" / "& CO." / "TACKLE DEPOT" . The words Geo. Morrison & Co. are enclosed in an oval shape which itself is enclosed in another oval shape. The flaps of the envelopes appear on the narrow edges.
