Circular card, scalloped edge needlebook that is folded in half. The inside has five small paper packets containing different size needles and an oval shaped piece of mauve cloth that holds pins. Symmetrical patterns and writing on outside of needlebook as follows; mauve and brown borders, green paisley like pattern on yellow back- ground, within the pattern is a line drawing of an ancient Egyptian? holding a fan and from the centre is a peacock with mauve feathers highlighted with red that radiate in a fan like pattern. The follow- ing words also appear; " NEEDLE BOOK / PENELOPE / EXTRA QUALITY / FINEST STEEL / GERMANY ". The inside of the neeedlebook has green borders and sun ray type patterns radiating from the centre of each half. The following writ- ing appears on each half; " THE 5 PAPERS ALL GOLD EYE ALL STUCK DOWN ON CLOTH - / SELECT ASSORTMENT ". The packets on the inside each have a label with the needle size. The following appears on each label; " PENELOPE / TRADE MARK / ELLIPTIC / GOLD EYED / NEEDLES / No. 3/9 / GERMANY ". Each label has a different needle size number and they are; "No. 1/5 ", " No. 1 ", " No. 2 ", " No. 3 ", "No.3/9"
